Step 1 » CFBuilder Housekeeping

  • If you have NOT configured CFBuilder to debug your CFML, you can jump to step 2

  • If you have been using CFBuilder to debug your CFML previously you will need to remove RDS settings from CBuilder and your CFML server(s) by following these steps:

    • In CFBuilder, click Window -> Preferences -> Adobe -> RDS configuration
    • Remove any RDS servers currently set up. This is required because CFBuilder will connect to the RDS in your CF Server which in turn will use up the single debugging port, it does this at startup and will cause FusionDebug to fail to connect even with the correct host & port settings.
    • After removing these settings, close CFBuilder then open your CF Admin. Go to the debugger settings and uncheck the 'Allow Line Debugging' option
    • Restart your CF server.

  • Your server is now in a position to be configured for use with FusionDebug

Step 2 » How to install FusionDebug on CFBuilder

  • Start your copy of CFbuilder
  • Select Help -> Software Updates.. ->
  • Click Add Site.. You will see a new dialog.
  • Enter the following link into the Location
    • Location: http://www.fusion-reactor.com/fd/fd3update/
    • then click OK.
  • We recommend that you next click 'Manage Sites' and make sure that FusionDebug is the only checked Site. This will vastly increase the install time of your FusionDebug since CFBuilder will not have to check for other updates at the same time.
  • Click OK then make sure that FusionDebug is checked in the Software Updates and Add-ons dialog.
  • Finally click Install.
  • CFBuilder will open a review dialog to ask you to confirm that you will be installing new software. Verify that you are installing FusionDebug and then click Finish.
  • You will now need to wait whilst FusionDebug installs into your CFBuilder workspace.
  • CFBuilder will ask if it should restart the Workbench, you should answer yes and the work bench will be restarted.

Step 3 » Open FusionDebug perspective

  • Go to Window -> Open Perspective -> Other
  • Then choose FusionDebug Perspective
  • You should now see the FusionDebug perspective and be ready to Debug!
